75 x 41 x 0.06 mm dual frequency RFID label DuoBand-7541 is equipped with an EM4423 chip that enables the product to offer two functionalities in one single RFID label, the UHF technology that can be used for long-range application purposes and the NFC technology that can be used to transfer information at close proximity. Both these protocols though different, may share the same unique ID. Leveraging this unique dual frequency feature on the IC, the product can offer multiple benefits and is ideal for usage in retail and logistical applications. Since it requires only programming of the chip, enabling NFC functionalities on top of UHF isn’t a problem.
NFC enabled smartphones can be used to simply tap on the tag and fetch the stored information. It also allows customers to use their NFC enabled smartphones to access additional information about the product purchased, such as the product warranty documentation, user manuals, product authenticity proofs, which are quite essential for products with a higher counterfeiting possibility.
